MIKE PEREIRA    

founding president and ceo

Mike officiated football for 25 years before entering the National Football League. He started officiating Pop Warner games in 1971. He ran the officiating program in the NFL for 12 years before becoming a rules analyst for Fox Sports NFL and college football telecasts.

 

ROBERT RiVINIUS  

Chairman

Robert served as President and CEO of the California Building Industry Association for 30 years and is currently principal of The RHR Group. He also serves as Executive Director of the Family Business Association of California, a lobbying organization representing the state’s family businesses at the Capitol. He has served on the board and as elected Chairman of several organizations, including the National Association of Homebuilders Executive Officers Council, Big Brother/Big Sisters of Greater Sacramento, the Sacramento Society of Association Executives, and the California Community Colleges Board of Governors. Rivinius was inducted into the California Homebuilding Hall of Fame in 2004.

 

John Frisch

Director

John Frisch is Senior Managing Director at Newmark, a Global commercial real estate firm.  He has been active in commercial real estate brokerage in the Sacramento region for over 40 years, including serving as Managing Partner of the Sacramento and Roseville offices for 23 years.  He has been active in numerous community and non profit Boards of Directors including serving as Board Chair of the Metro Chamber, The Salvation Army, ACRE and the Sutter Hospitals Foundation.  John is a graduate of the University of California Berkeley where he also played varsity football.


ROGER RUTH

Roger’s career was in the insurance business and that is his area of expertise. He is a member of the Scabbard and Blade Honor Society. He is a Vietnam veteran serving on active duty from 1967 to 1969.  He served four years in the Army Reserves at the Presidio in San Francisco.


mike Belote      

Board Member

Michael Belote has over 43 years of experience in representing a variety of clients before the Legislature and state regulators. Mike’s activities in the legislative process have spanned a broad array of issues, including financial services, real estate, health care, the judiciary, and transportation. Capitol Weekly has named him one of the Top 100 in California politics. In 2021, Mike was named as Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year by an association of philanthropic fundraisers in the Sacramento Capital Region. Mike is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the McGeorge School of Law. He is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in California.


BARRY MANO

Barry is the Founder and President of the National Association of Sports Officials. The association has been and continues to be the vanguard of legislative and legal efforts to protect the men and women who officiate sports today. NASO is a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation. Barry will give overall guidance to the Foundation and will spread the word to his 22,000 association members.

Dana began her professional career in July 1997 with the New Mexico Activities Association as the administrative assistant for boys’ sports and officials.  After seven years as administrative assistant at the NMAA, Dana was promoted to the position of Commissioner of Officials in 2004 and proudly served in that capacity until July 31, 2021, making her one of the longest tenured Commissioners of Officials in the country. She was promoted to the position of Deputy Director of the NMAA in 2012.

On August 1, 2021, Dana assumed the newly created role of Director of Officiating Services for the NFHS in Indianapolis. She describes this position as her “dream job,” where she is able to advocate for officials nationwide.  In addition to her role with the NFHS, she was named Chairperson of the Board of Directors for NASO for the 2022-2023 school year and was inducted into the New Mexico Officials Association Hall of Fame’s Class of 2022.

JIMMY DEBELL

Jimmy DeBell is a veteran college and NFL official who now specializes in officiating training.  As a college field, side and back judge since 1996, DeBell worked in the ECAC Patriot League, Atlantic 10, Big East and Conference USA until 2009.  He then became a side judge in the National Football League from 2009 to 2014.  DeBell's prior professional experience included two Arena Football League seasons and one year in NFL Europe.  Currently, he works for Conference USA in two capacities, as a downfield position trainer and film evaluator for officials coming into C-USA.  He also earned a postseason assignment in each of his six NFL seasons.

nate boyer

BOARD MEMBER 

Nate played football at the University of Texas.  In 2004, he became a relief worker in Sudan, building camps for refugees of the War in Darfur. He then enlisted in the United States Army, training at Fort Benning, and later was accepted into the Green Berets. He served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Nate will help find vets to take advantage of the scholarships offered by the organization.
